Bids and Answers
Who is a Guru?
Any user who is an expert in a particular field and chooses to bid for a question is a Guru. You don't have to select any settings in your registration profile to indicate that you are a Guru. Most Gurus maintain detailed profiles about their expertise in specific categories. Seekers browse the Guru profile information in the relevant categories before deciding which Guru to choose to answer their questions.
Why should I share my knowledge and answer questions on da Gurus?
da Gurus is the eBay® of services where users can ask questions on any subject. We believe that every person is an expert or a Guru in at least one area. We respect the Gurus in every field, be it a great gardener, a super plumber, an expert electrician or a meticulous accountant. Many Gurus share their knowledge and provide answers on the Internet for free in their spare time to help others. But they don't necessarily receive money or respect for sharing their knowledge.
da Gurus invites you to resolve problems, answer questions and share your knowledge with the Seekers. You will not only earn the money you deserve for sharing your knowledge, but above all you will receive the respect and recognition that you deserve. da Gurus provides a convenient platform to build your income and business on the side and you will get paid to share your knowledge and expertise.
To sum it up, we are the e-bay of "services". Join our community, establish an early presence and build your reputation by earning valuable feedback.
How do I come to know about questions I may be interested in answering?
You can browse the questions showcased on the home page or you can browse through the
Category listings of questions in the fields that you are interested and experienced in. You can also search questions by keywords using the search box on the website. Most Gurus update their email subscription for the preferred categories to receive email notifications about the latest questions posted in their favorite categories.
How do I bid for a question?
Review a question and if you think that you are qualified to answer it, then click on "Place a bid". You can quote the amount for which you are willing to answer a question. Add a brief note highlighting the key reasons why you should be selected as the winning Guru to answer that question. You may highlight your experience in that category / field or you may explicitly state how many answers you have provided for that specific topic. You may also set the expectation about how much time you require to answer a question. For example, if the question is about cooking a specific dish, you may state something like this when you bid for the same -
"I prepare that dish every day at my restaurant and I will answer within 6 hours of winning the bid".
Review the Seeker's profile including the feedback received by the Seeker in the past to determine how reliable the Seeker is.
How will I know that I have been selected as the winning Guru?
You will receive an email as soon as the Seeker selects you as the winning Guru.
How quickly should I answer?
Typically, the Gurus who are prompt in answering in the questions receive the best feedback and most repeat business. If you do not answer the question within 4 days, then the Seeker can void the transaction and can select another winning Guru.
What are follow-up questions and how quickly should I answer them?
A Seeker may ask a follow-up question if the Seeker does not understand any specific point in your answer. Answer them promptly so that the Seeker can then review the complete answer and accept it at the earliest.
What if the Seeker rejects my answer?
da Gurus community is run on good faith and only serious Seekers and Gurus are welcome here. The Seekers have been advised to ask a follow-up question if they do not understand a specific point in the winning Guru's answer. But if the Seeker is not convinced about the answer and is totally unsatisfied, then the Seeker may reject the answer.
The Seeker's decision is final and the winning Guru will not be paid for that answer.
What if I answer the question correctly but the Seeker still rejected the answer?
da Gurus is only a platform to bring the Gurus and the
Seekers together. If you think that the
Seeker has wrongly rejected your answer, you may report the
Seeker's abuse to the Customer Desk by giving the following details in your email:
- The question that you bid for.
- Details about your answer and why you feel that it was correct. Give reasons about why the Seeker was wrong in rejecting the answer.
If the
da Gurus administrators determine, at their sole discretion, that the
Seeker had wrongfully rejected the answer, then the
Seeker will be left with negative feedback thereby penalizing the
Seeker for future questions and alerting other Gurus about the previous abuse history of the
Seeker.
How will I come to know about new questions posted by Seekers?
You can manage your email notifications subscriptions for different categories by clicking on the "
Email Subscriptions" link on the
My Account page.
You will receive email notifications whenever new questions are posted in your subscribed category. You can select the frequency of the email notifications - instant or daily.
How can I check my account balance?
