Detailed question

Hello, I recently bought a two year old Quarter horse gelding named Ray for my nephew.  I thought he was pretty good and really calm. But on the weekend I was leading him down the driveway and my nephew was on him bareback with no bridle! All was going well until the other horse in the area got really excited and started galloping and bucking! Ray saw the other horse and started going faster and faster and before I knew it I was like 15 feet away from my nephew and Ray was galloping down the lane way with the lead dangling beside him! My nephew was so scared and I have no clue why he did this. How can I teach him to pay attention to what I want, not what other horses are doing. Please Help! I can pay under 10 dollars for this one.

Additional clarifications about the above question:

Clarification # 1

Guru: "How can I teach him to pay attention to what I want, not what other horses are doing." - Whom are you talking about?

Seeker: Answeer: Good point :-). I was talking about Ray my horse. I need some guidance about how to train him to listen to my instructions even while in the company of other horses.

Clarification # 2

Guru: You have other horses and I don't want to give you information / knowledge that you already have. What exactly are you looking for?

Seeker: Ans: Thanks for the candid question. I am looking for specific tips / advice based on your real experience with training horses. I do see bids for my questions but it would help if the Guru had some details in their profiles about what they know about horses... I don't know how much to trust a one-off bid / sales pitch. I would rather trust their permanent Guru Profiles with details of their expertise, training, certificates, pictures, related to horses.
