Detailed question
My wife and I are planning to travel to United Kingdom around mid-June 2009. There are a tone of books and online resources available with conflicting advice about which places to see. I am willing to pay $5 to someone who can advise based on my requirements. I am originally from India but resident in USA for a while. Being a cricket lover, I will definitely visit the Lords cricket ground. I also plan to go on the London Eye and may be the Buckhingam palace or Windsor Castle. In addition to the above, I am looking for some advice about what surrounding places should I see? Something that I can go by train from London and reach within a couple of hours at most. I am a big fan of P G Wodehouse's Jeeves and Wooster series. But I wonder if it would be as interesting enough to visit castles and stuff? I am planning to be on a tight budget trip, as we are also planning to go to France, Switzerland and may be Italy. Again, I am willing to pay $5 to someone who can advise based on my above requirements. Only serious Gurus who have first-hand knowledge of UK should bid (I will check your Guru profiles under Travel - UK section)

Clarification # 1
Guru: I am a "Plummie" as well (a big fan of P G Wodehouse who was fondly called "Plum") as well. Did you finally travel to UK? If yes, where all did you go from London?
Seeker: Yes we did go to UK and apart from London, we went to the town of Oxford on a day trip from London. It was a nice town with a lot of rich history. We took a walking tour there and even saw the Christchurch College dining hall that is famous from the Harry Potter movies. Unfortunately, we just didn't have the time to indulge on a P G Wodehouse related trip, nor did we find anything around there.
Clarification # 2
Guru: Did you consider going to Cambridge? Why did you pick Oxford over Cambridge?
Seeker: Oxford was definitely closer and more like a small town. Also, Harry Potter was a big draw for us,
