| Hello, I am 35 years old and it has been my lifelong wish to learn to play a flute. A couple of musician friends I know gave conflicting advice about whether I should learn the side-blown or the end-blown flute. I do know the basics the flute that I learned on my own but now if I was to start learning to play a flute from videos and books, which one should I select - side-blown or end-blown? I have a preference for the side-blown deep sounding bigger flute but a friend told me that it is very tough to learn the side-blown. I want to get advice from an experienced music teacher or a professional flute player / expert musician about which flute should I learn with detailed reasoning? I am willing to pay $10 for advice from an expert / professional. |
