Detailed question
| My wife and I are planning a trip to Europe. We are based in USA and we
plan to start with London, UK, since my wife has some relations there.
After traveling in England, we will then visit France going from London
to Paris by the Chunnel express train. From France we plan to go to Switzerland and from there to Rome, Italy. After Rome, we have a choice of either Venice or Florence and we are not sure which one to take. I know, most of you will say, do both. But given our days away from work, we can only squeeze one of the two cities. We are not very knowledgeable about art but we are also not die hard romantics. We would prefer something concrete / substantial out of the trip rather than frivolous. My wife has seen that stereo-type scene in Movies with a small canoe in river with buildings on both sides. I am not sure how much more there is to see beyond that in Venice. I am leaning towards Florence because it appears that there is this huge concentration of art and beauty in a very small area that can all be accessed walking. Is that really true? I already researched on Google and even posted questions on Yahoo Answers and other free forums, but obviously, I got wrong advice from all the teenagers with lots of free time. I don't mind paying $5 to get an answer from traveling experts who have been to both those cities and have enough knowledge to advise me. I do plan to check Guru profiles for Italy to sort out the kids posing as experts. Please bid only if you are a serious Guru. |
